BellaRocca Moriones Festival Tour
This lenten season, feel the magic in a breathtaking new destination and experience a moving festival that depicts the passion of Christ.
Surrender to your whims and spend it at the luxurious BellaRocca Island Resort and Spa, an exclusive resort perched on a 20-hectare island of mountainous rolling terrain, reminiscent of Santorini, Greece. Located in Marinduque, it is the perfect place to stay in as you prepare to witness and experience the Moriones Festival.
Known as one of the most colorful and solemn festivals
in the country, the celebration transforms Boac, the
capital town of Marinduque into a mini Jerusalem. Men are roaming the streets dressed in creatively designed costumes of biblical Roman soldiers searching for
Longinus. Legend has it that Longinus, a Roman
centurion who is blind in one eye, pierced the side of Jesus on the cross with his spear and restored his sight by the blood that spurted out from Christ’s wound. The Moriones Festival is a commemoration of Longinus and the miracle that converted him to Christianity.
Don’t miss the spectacle and join the festivities!
Otherwise, you have to wait for another year!
